EU Regional School 2008 Trimester I

Process and Systems Modeling

The EU Regional School is open to graduate students from German, Belgian and Dutch Universities. The courses take place every Monday over an 8-week period and are divided in a morning lecture and an afternoon lecture. Every participant receives an EU Regional School Certificate. The courses are free of charge.

Lectures take place on Monday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm in AICES, seminar room, Pauwelsstr. 12.

Alexander Mitsos, Ph.D.
Junior Research Group Leader, AICES

Dr. Mitsos obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 2006 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Thereafter he was an MIT Research Affiliate and Senior Engineer at Numerica Technology, before joining AICES in 2008.

Prof. James B. Rawlings, Ph.D.
University of Wisconsin Madison

Visiting Professor, AICES
Prof. Rawlings obtained his Ph.D. in 1985 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UWM), and is the Paul A. Elfers Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering at UWM.

Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Andreas Schuppert
Bayer Technology Services
Adjunct Professor, AICES

Prof. Schuppert obtained his doctorate in Mathematics in 1988 at the University of Stuttgart. Since 2006, he is the head of the Competence Center “Computational Solutions” at Bayer Technology Services, and since 2007, an Adjunct Professor of Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen and AICES.
