The so-called STEM subjects – science, technology, engineering, and mathematics – are often not very popular with young people despite the fact that these subjects are not only indispensable for science and research but for everyday life. An important task for research institutions and universities is to introduce school students to these subjects, capture their interest, and consolidate their progress. In the JARA Kids project, the Jülich Aachen Research Alliance offers support for talented young people in STEM subjects.
