Two new DFG Priority Programmes
The German Research Foundation (DFG) is establishing eight new Priority Programmes (SPP), two of them at RWTH Aachen University, headed by JARA scientists. For the total of eight new collaborations, selected from 29 submitted initiatives, approximately 53 million euros will be made available for an initial period of three years.
The DFG is now funding the two priority programs "Greybox models for the qualification of coated tools for high-performance machining" and "A contribution to the realization of the energy transition: Optimizing thermochemical energy conversion processes for the flexible use of hydrogen-based renewable fuels through additive manufacturing processes" are funded. The coordinator of "Greybox models for the qualification of coated tools for high-performance machining" is JARA-ENERGY member Prof. Kirsten Bobzin, head of the Chair of Surface Technology in Mechanical Engineering. The second priority program is coordinated by JARA-ENERGY and JARA-CSD member Prof. Heinz Pitsch, Chair of Technical Combustion.
