Joost-Pieter Katoen elected into the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina
JARA-CSD scientist is a new member of the German Academy of Sciences
JARA-CSD member Joost-Pieter Katoen, who chaired Computer Science 2 (Software Modeling and Verification) at RWTH Aachen University since 2005, has been recently inducted into the Leopoldina. His membership in the Leopoldina acknowledges his remarkable scientific contributions.
The Leopoldina stands as the oldest scientific and medical scholarly society in the German-speaking world, established in 1652. Serving as Germany's National Academy of Sciences, its mandate includes representing German science internationally and providing counsel to policymakers and the public. The Leopoldina plays a pivotal role in advocating for German science in global forums and offers critical scientific advice at G7 and G20 summits. With a membership exceeding 1,700 from over 30 countries, it pools expertise from diverse research domains.
