33rd Umbrella Symposium

For the 33rd time, the Israel Institute of Technology (Technion), RWTH Aachen University and Forschungszentrum Jülich are jointly organizing the Umbrella Symposium to exchange information on the state of the art in current research and to strengthen cooperation.
The host for 2019 will be the Forschungszentrum Jülich. From 27 to 29 May, scientists from the three cooperating institutions will meet under the title "Energy Conversion and Energy Storage" to discuss the current state of research. The symposium is intended to facilitate the scientific exchanges and provides a platform to jointly develop ideas for future projects.
After the welcome, seven thematic sessions will provide an overview of current research in the field of energy. Several JARA-ENERGY members will share their research. In addition, the participants will have the opportunity for networking.
The Umbrella Awards will also be awarded this year. The three award winners will present their research in a short lecture.
The scientific coordinators of the symposium are: Professor Rüdiger-A. Eichel (Forschungszentrum), Professor Joachim Meyer (RWTH Aachen University) und Professor Wayne Kaplan (Technion Haifa).

Umbrella Symposium
The Umbrella Symposium is held annually and takes place alternately at the three cooperating institutions Israel Institute of Technology (Technion), RWTH Aachen University and Forschungszentrum Jülich. The aim of the symposium is to bring together the scientists of the three institutions. It offers a platform for scientific exchange. The scientific lectures and discussions usually focus on a changing field of research.
