Postdocs are an important group in the science community. Providing support for young talents making their way in research and education is an important task for universities and research establishments. Postdocs therefore have the opportunity, for example, to take over and head young investigators groups.
Within the framework of the Jülich Aachen Research Alliance, a wide range of programmes and services are open to early-career scientists enabling them to carve out a career in science and university teaching.

Junior Research Groups

Postdocs who show outstanding performances have the opportunity to lead a junior research group. The junior groups allow indipendent research on an early stage of career and has a positive impact on the career development. Additionaly the leading of a junior research group also provides advantageous conditions to endeavour a junior professorship.
