Applying for computing time
Applications for computing time on the JARA Partition can be submitted by any scientist of RWTH Aachen University and Forschungszentrum Jülich qualified in his or her respective field of research. Computing resources are being allocated in accordance with the criteria and procedures of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
Prospective users can apply for computing time twice a year at defined periods of time.
To apply for computing time on the JARA Partition, please proceed as follows:
- First write a detailed project description and - in case of a project extension - a status report. Please adhere to the guidelines on form, content and scope of project descriptions and status reports.
- Complete the electronic questionnaire and attach the project description as well as any additional documents to the questionnaire as pdf files.
Please note that (besides the technical information regarding the planned simulations) all computing time applications that have been submitted to German Computing Centers within the last 3 years have to be listed in the electronic questionnaire, regardless of whether their content is similar to the current proposal or not.
- With the finalization of your project application a form is created. Please print this form, sign it and send it to the Coordination Office for the Allocation of Computing Time preferably by email.
