In the Future, New Types of Hardware Will Be Essential
The state of North Rhine-Westphalia is funding a sub-project of the Digital Hardware Hub Aachen. AMO GmbH and the Chair of Electronic Devices are delighted with the new first-class technology infrastructure for start-ups.
The Digital Hardware Hub Aachen is intended to establish a central infrastructure for micro and nanotechnology that can support an economic ecosystem for innovative hardware in the Rhenish Mining Area. The existing infrastructure of AMO GmbH will be significantly expanded upon with a new building that will have a clean room and that will provide office and laboratory space. The hub will provide space in the immediate vicinity of RWTH not only for AMO, but especially for start-ups from the deep-tech sector that require access to a first-class technology infrastructure.
The funding decision is the first step towards making Digital Hardware Hub Aachen a reality. The AMO team celebrated this together with colleagues from the Chair of Electronic Devices (ELD) at RWTH and a number of friends and partners. "What we are celebrating today is essentially the next 30 years or more of AMO," said Prof. Max Lemme, member of JARA-FIT and JARA-CSD, Head of the Chair of Electronic Devices at RWTH Aachen University and AMO Managing Director.
