Aaron Praktiknjo researches a just energy transition
In the German–South African research project SAGE-BRIDGE, researchers led by JARA-ENERGY member Prof. Aaron Praktiknjo are working together with the University of Pretoria to develop evidence-based answers.
The bilateral research project SAGE-BRIDGE, a collaboration between RWTH Aachen University and the University of Pretoria, investigates how the global energy transition can be shaped in a socially just and inclusive way. The five-year initiative is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space and brings together researchers from both countries on a joint research platform.
At RWTH Aachen University, the project is based at the Chair of Energy System Economics, headed by Professor Aaron Praktiknjo, who is a member of JARA-ENERGY. In addition to research on the political and economic framework conditions of the energy transition, the project places a strong emphasis on supporting early-career researchers and building long-term international collaborations.
