Prof. Stefanie Elgeti receives the ECCOMAS Olgierd Cecil Zienkiewicz Award

On November 13th, 2020 the European Community on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences (ECCOMAS) announced that this year’s Olgierd Cecil Zienkiewicz young-investigator award will be awarded to Prof. Stefanie Elgeti.
ECCOMAS is a scientific organization grouping together European associations with interests in the development and applications of computational methods in science and technology.
The Olgierd Cecil Zienkiewicz award recognizes young researchers with outstanding contributions in the field of Computational Engineering Sciences. It is ECCOMAS' highest and most prestigious award for young researchers throughout Europe. It is awarded every two years to an outstanding scientist under 40 years.
Stefanie Elgeti currently holds the professorship for lightweight design at Vienna University of Technology. She still supports the research at her alma mater, RWTH Aachen University, as associated principal investigator in the IRTG Modern Inverse Problems, the SFB Precision Melt Engineering, and the Cluster of Excellence Internet of Production. Her current research interests lie in the simulation and numerical design of both engineering components and manufacturing processes. Together with her work group, she develops application-specific numerical methods.
