MSS/JARA CSD Workshop 2025

This year's MSS/JARA CSD Workshop took place on October 29, 2025, at RWTH Aachen University's SuperC. Members of the JARA CSD and the MSS profile area, as well as interested scientists, came together to discuss current developments and future topics in the field of simulation and data sciences.

After a welcome and presentation of current figures and activities by the MSS/JARA CSD team, the Travel Grant was awarded to recognize the outstanding scientific achievements of young researchers.

In a series of exciting presentations and discussions, experts highlighted current research priorities:

Prof. Dr. Martin Claßen (Chair and Institute of Solid Construction, RWTH Aachen University), Prof. Dr. Simon Steentjes (Institute of Electrical Machines, RWTH Aachen University), and Prof. Antara Dasgupta (Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Hydroeconomics, RWTH Aachen University) gave exciting presentations followed by discussions.

In addition, the workshop offered current insights into CSD activities in research software development and news from the field of quantum computing. In a concluding discussion round, key topics and future priorities were identified together with representatives from other JARA sections.

The day ended with an overview of the Center's upcoming activities and a convivial conclusion with finger food, which provided an opportunity for further discussion.
