Prof. Markus Diesmann new member of the Academy of Sciences and Literature, Mainz

Six new members were admitted to the Academy of Sciences and Literature Mainz this August. With Prof. Markus Diesmann, Director of the JARA-BRAIN Institute Brain Structure-Function, Director of the Institute for Neurosciences and Medicine (INM-6), Computational and Systems Neuroscience at Forschungszentrum Jülich and Clinic for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics at RWTH Aachen University, a JARA professor was admitted to the Academy this time. Diesmann is a member of JARA-BRAIN and is also active in the JARA Center for Simulation and Data Science (JARA-CSD), which was established in 2018. In the Academy, the physicist is now a full member of the Mathematics and Natural Sciences class. The committee praised his research as "the central interface between the work of the neuroscientific institutes and high-performance computing".
