JARA CSD Workshop 2023

On November 27 and 28, 2023, the JARA CSD took place for the first time in combination with the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) Meeting. SAB members from the USA, Japan and Spain traveled to the event. Around 50 participants discussed topics such as next generation and excascale computing, research software engineering/software as infrastructure and research-oriented training across all career levels. The role of JARA CSD in the next round of the Excellence Strategy was also discussed. The two-day workshop included presentations, panel discussions and personal exchanges between the scientists who discussed about their research and the future of simulation and data science. The combination of SAB meeting and workshop enabled a particularly lively and constructive exchange on research topics and the future direction of JARA CSD.
