ADOPT – Advancing Optimization Technologies Through International Collaboration

Led by the Sargent Centre for Process Systems Engineering (CPSE) at Imperial College London and University College London, the joint Centre will pioneer digital tools at the interface between computational optimization and machine learning. These two areas will mutually reinforce each other so as to enhance decision making in complex processes and large-scale systems, benefiting from the fast advances in data analysis and mathematical modeling which are core competences at JARA-CSD. The new methodologies to improve design, operations and supply chains will deliver significant benefits and bolster the positions of Germany and the UK as world leaders in the disciplines of process systems engineering and smart manufacturing.

Prof. Alexander Mitsos will coordinate JARA-CSD’s effort in the new Centre-to-Centre collaboration.
