A study by the Chair of Energy System Economics at RWTH Aachen University, led by JARA-ENERGY scientist Prof. Aaron Praktiknjo, now concludes that the EEG levy poses a major challenge for low-income households. In the meantime, the new "traffic light" coalition plans to abolish the EEG levy from 2023, but the RWTH scientists propose a reform of the EEG levy as an alternative.

In order to be able to protect people in particular from a renewed flood threat such as occurred in the summer of 2021, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is funding the joint project "HoWas2021 - Governance und Kommunikation im Krisenfall des Hochwasserereignisses im Juli 2021". Optimization of catalysts is often difficult because the exact mechanisms leading to the desired result are often unclear. An example of this is the stabilization of palladium(I) dimers, which relies on a very small class of phosphine ligands. Based on the research of Hueffel et al, JARA-CSD scientist Franziska Schoenebeck has now succeeded in synthesizing eight previously undescribed dimers.

The NEUROTEC project, which RWTH Aachen University and Forschungszentrum Jülich are jointly conducting under the umbrella of JARA, has now entered its second phase.
