EuroHPC JU, the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking, has selected Forschungszentrum Jülich – a partner in Germany’s Gauss Centre for Supercomputing – to operate the first next-generation European supercomputer.
The JARA partners Forschungszentrum Jülich and RWTH Aachen University, in collaboration with the Leibniz Institute for Innovative Microelectronics (IHP), are pooling their complementary expertise in the field of semiconductor and quantum technology. In the future, they want to work together on the development of scalable semiconductor quantum bits within the framework of an open-ended cooperation, which will make quantum computers with millions of qubits possible.
Clean hydrogen is an important element in successfully advancing the energy transition. The European Commission has recognized this and initiated the Clean Hydrogen Partnership in the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) together with partners in research and industry. Bart Biebuyck, Executive Director of FCH JU, presented the partnership at the JARA-ENERGY Talks on April 27, 2022.
Three strong partners joined forces in the Umbrella Cooperation in 1983. The cooperation between the Israel Institute of Technology - Technion, RWTH Aachen University and Forschungszentrum Jülich has been bearing fruit ever since. At this year's Umbrella Symposium, scientists from the three partners presented their research and work in the fields of life sciences and engineering.
A new Celonis Engineering and Innovation Lab will enhance the portfolio of JARA partner RWTH Aachen University in the future. The aim is to create synergy effects in the field of research and development as well as in the training of future specialists for process mining and execution management. The new lab will focus on the further development of future-oriented process mining functionalities such as process recognition, predictive analytics, data-driven simulation and machine learning.
