Three JARA Members Elected to acatech

Three researchers from RWTH Aachen University who are also active members of JARA have been elected to the German National Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech): Prof. Fabian Kießling (JARA-BRAIN), Prof. Max Lemme (JARA-CSD), and Prof. Walter Leitner (JARA-ENERGY).

Pioneers in Their Fields

Prof. Fabian Kießling, a member of JARA-BRAIN, is regarded as a pioneer in the field of molecular imaging. Since 2008, he has held the Chair of Experimental Molecular Imaging and serves as Director at the Helmholtz Institute for Biomedical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University.

For Prof. Max Lemme, a member of JARA-CSD, the focus of his innovative research lies on electronic and optoelectronic devices based on two-dimensional materials such as graphene. He holds the Chair of Electronic Devices at RWTH Aachen and is the spokesperson for the NeuroSys Future Cluster.

Prof. Walter Leitner, a member of JARA-ENERGY, has made outstanding contributions to the field of energy research. His work focuses on sustainable catalytic systems at the interface between energy and chemistry. At RWTH Aachen, he holds the Chair of Technical Chemistry and Petrochemistry and also serves as Director at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
