JARA members involved in new Käte Hamburger Kolleg at RWTH Aachen University
The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) approved a Käte Hamburger Kolleg for RWTH Aachen University. Beginning in May, the program, entitled "Cultures of Research," will be funded for an initial four-year period with more than nine million euros. The Center will be headed by Professor Gabriele Gramelsberger, Chair for Theory of Science and Technology, and Professor Stefan Böschen, Chair of Society and Technology. Prof. Markus Diesmann (JARA-BRAIN) from the Department of Computational Neuroscience and Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine at Forschungszentrum Jülich will support the Kolleg with his neuroscientific expertise. Furthermore, Prof. Matthias Wessling (JARA-ENERGY and JARA-SOFT), Chair of Chemical Process Engineering, will contribute to the success of the Center with his knowledge in the field of membrane technology and polymer research.
The Center will have a particular focus on the manifold research cultures in the sciences and investigate their commonalities, differences, and how they are being transformed through transdisciplinary discourse.
