49 th IFF Spring School „Physics of Life“
Location: Research Centre Jülich
Under the title "Physics of Life", the 49th IFF Spring School will take place from 26 February to 9 March 2018. About 50 hours of lectures, discussions and the opportunity to visit the participating institutes of Research Centre Jülich will give an introduction and overview of the research topic biophysics. The focus is on understanding biological structure, dynamics and function. In addition, the interdisciplinary linking of the fields is an important part of the five days.
Six topics are included in the program: Experimental and Theoretical Methods; Basic Building Blocks: Bio-Macromolecules; Membranes, Filaments, and Networks; Biological Cells; Systems Biology and Diseases.
The scientific organisation committee consists of eight outstanding scientists. They include the JARA members Prof. Gerhard Gompper, Prof. Jan Dhont, Prof. Christoph Fahlke and Prof. Andreas Offenhäusser.
The IFF Springschool addresses young students, doctoral researchers and PostDocs in the fields of physics, chemistry and biology. Participants should have a basic knowledge of biophysics.
