JARA-FIT Master’s degree program in nanoelectronics

Students of physics and electrical engineering have the opportunity to major their Master’s degree in “Nanoelectronics”.

The Master’s program encompass the specializations “Micro- and Nanoelectronics”(MN) in the fields of electrical engineering, information technology and technical informatics and “Nanoelectronics” in the field of physics.

The aim of the program is to teach all aspects of nanoelectronics and thus to train young scientists in this field. The lectures are internationally oriented and are given mainly in English, especially in the field of physics.

JARA-FIT coordinates the field of nanoelectronics in the Master’s program. In this way the students get the opportunity to learn about the nanoworld in the institutions of the Forschungszentrum Jülich. At one of the largest interdisciplinary research centres in Europe the students will have access to superior facilities during laboratory courses. The Master's students will be able to use the Helmholtz Nanoelectronic Facility (HNF) one of the most modern cleanroom facilities and will be integrated into current research projects.

In addition, participants of the laboratory course can get in touch with top-class scientists and exchange views on the topic.

Graduates with a major in nanoelectronics have excellent job opportunities in many areas of the semiconductor industry. Especially the high research potential of nanoelectronics makes the field interesting for young scientists. The departments range from basic research to information technology and medicine.
