Focusing Expertise - Shaping the Future
In the Jülich Aachen Research Alliance (JARA), RWTH Aachen University and Forschungszentrum Jülich pool their outstanding expertise in different research areas.These common efforts open up new research opportunities and facilitate projects that would not be attainable for either of the partners on their own. Furthermore, their attention is always focused on the grand challenges facing society.

A new position paper by leading international AI experts outlines how multinational cooperation and shared resources can help strengthen technological sovereignty. The analysis, published by renowned institutions, discusses models inspired by CERN as a possible path forward for Europe and other “AI bridge states.” One of the contributing experts is Prof. Holger Hoos, member of JARA-CSD.

The joint event organized by the Computational and Mathematical Modeling Program (CAMMP) at RWTH Aachen University and the national excellence school network MINT EC e.V. Berlin, took place during the week of October 20-24, 2025, and is primarily aimed at secondary school students from all over Germany who want to spend a week working on mathematical problems in small groups.
