JARA-FIT scientists present new prototype detector for hazardous liquids

In the science journal "Superconductor Science and Technology", physicists from JARA-FIT today presented the prototype of a new detector that is capable of reliably and swiftly differentiating between liquid explosive and harmless substances.

For their detector, Prof. Knut Urban and his team from the Institute of Solid State Research use a special type of spectroscopy, which can analyse substances with the aid of electromagnetic radiation.
