Nano-Vision: Driving Sustainability of the Information Age

Main research fields of JARA-FIT
About 40 years ago, semiconductor-based information technology initiated an industrial revolution, whose products meanwhile influence almost all branches of social and economic life. This calm revolution completely changed the ways of communication, information processing, planning, production, commerce and scientific research. Very likely, the next decades will develop further applications, which appear still utopian today.

JARA-FIT Seed Funds

During the first phase of the Excellence Initiative JARA has provided Seed Funds with the incentive to have new ideas developed to the point where they can attract subsequent third-party funding. This initiative was highly successful.

As a measure to further strengthen the scientific collaborations between Aachen and Jülich, JARA will grant Seed Funds also in the second phase of the Excellence Initiative within its research field Future Information Technology. The new call has recently been published. For details of the open calls follow the link.

As part of a cooperation project between RWTH Aachen University and Forschungszentrum Jülich (JARA), a new database was created, that provides comprehensive overview of the main research areas in energy of the two institutions.
