At all three research locations, PhD students can avail of excellent technical infrastructure with regard to imaging techniques (MRT, fMRT, PET, MEG, brain map-ping).

The objective of research at the international graduate college is to gain a better understanding of the neuronal principles behind psychological disorders and thus to be able to improve options for therapy.

IRTG students also get the opportunity to conduct research at the renowned University of Pennsylvania for half a year.

The IRTG is the only graduate college nationwide for schizophrenia and autism. 

It has been supported by German Research Foundation (DFG) from 2006 and is an important basis for JARA-BRAIN.
