JARA-HPC Partition

The establishment of the JARA-HPC partition, consisting of contingents of high-performance computers and supercomputers in Aachen and Jülich as a link of the JARA-HPC provisioning pyramid's levels 1 and 2, aims at providing the researchers of FZJ, RWTH and GRS (German Research School for Simulation Sciences) with local access to the HPC resources they need to work on a variety of projects with various archictectures.

The JARA-HPC Partition's computers

The JARA-HPC partition consists of contingents of the high-performance computers and supercomputers installed at RWTH Aachen University (RWTH Compute Cluster) and Forschungszentrum Jülich (JUQUEEN). The partition was established in 2012. Currently, a total computing power of about 600 TFlops is available.

Apply for computing time

Applications for computing time on the JARA-HPC partition can be submitted by any scientist of RWTH Aachen University, Forschungszentrum Jülich or German Research School for Simulation Sciences (GRS) qualified in his or her respective field of research. Computing resources are allocated on the basis of independent referees' reports and according to the guidelines of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).

Prospective users can apply for computing time twice a year at defined periods of time.

The next computing time period starts on 1st of May 2013.

Applications for this computing time period can be submitted from 28th of January 2013
