AMS Experiment to receive new cooling system

The Alpha-Magnet-Spectrometer (AMS) installed on the International Space Station requires a new cooling system. Therefore scientists of the I. Physics Institute of the RWTH, under the direction of JARA-FAME member Prof. Stefan Schael, are working on the development of a new system, which will be installed and put into operation at the beginning of 2019 at the AMS experiment.
