JARA Awards

Within the framework of the Jülich Aachen Research Alliance (JARA), RWTH Aachen University and Forschungszentrum Jülich are providing a joint incentive for excellent master’s students and early-career scientists.

JARA Excellent Junior 2016


The JARA Excellent Junior award is presented by RWTH Aachen University to excellent early career scientists for their scientific work (projects, studies) within the context of JARA.
The award for early-career scientists is presented by JARA in recognition of above average achievements made by young scientists and simultaneously aims to improve the scientific visibility of these early career scientists. The JARA Excellent Junior award is worth € 5,000 (gross) and each award can be shared by a maximum of two winners. More

JARA Best Master 2016

The JARA Best Master award is a poster prize presented by RWTH Aachen University to excellent students for their master’s thesis within the context of JARA.
The award for outstanding master’s students is presented by JARA in recognition of above average achievements and simultaneously aims to give an incentive for a scientific career. The JARA Best Master award is worth € 500 (gross) and each award can be shared by a maximum of two winners. More


UROP

UROP International” the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program of RWTH Aachen offers students from North American and Canadian universities the opportunity to gain research experience by conducting research projects at RWTH Aachen University at an early stage of education. The participants have the chance to carry out their own research projects. Furthermore the students are offered a comprehensive accompanying program like intensive German language courses and workshops on intercultural learning.

IRTG 1328 Schizophrenia and Autism

The  2006 founded IRTG Schizophrenia and Autism is funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungs- gemeinschaft; DFG).

A network in the context of the Jülich Aachen Research Alliance (JARA), comprising the neuroscience research at the RWTH Aachen University and the Research Center Jülich, provides an international curriculum in English with an obligatory and intense exchange with the University of Pennsylvania.

A rotation program for students, researchers and professors with extensive German-American exchange is central to this IRTG (obligatory and funded are 6-12 months at the University of Pennsylvania).

Career development for female natural science and engineering researchers

The cooperation project of the Jülich Aachen Research Alliance (JARA) and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) supports female doctoral and post-doctoral young researchers in the natural sciences and engineering on the way to a leadership position in science and industry.

The human resources program supports women in developing potential and the active conduct of their academic or professional career.

The program is completed by a multifaceted training program to career relevant topics and regular network meetings.
